Anaconda 5: The Forest Predator (2025)

Anaconda 5: The Forest Predator (2025) resurrects the legendary creature-feature franchise with a gritty, survival-horror twist set deep in the Amazon’s most uncharted region. Directed by Adam Green, the film follows a group of environmental researchers who uncover a terrifying genetic mutation — a colossal anaconda created through illegal bioengineering experiments by a rogue pharmaceutical corporation.

The story opens with a shocking prologue: a military recovery team searching for a missing helicopter is ambushed in the jungle by something unseen — until a massive serpent strikes with bone-crushing speed. Weeks later, Dr. Elena Cruz (Ana de Armas), a biologist passionate about protecting the rainforest, leads a research team into the same area to investigate strange ecological disturbances. Among her crew is Jack Harper (Chris Pratt), a cynical ex-soldier turned survivalist, reluctantly hired as their guide.

As they journey deeper into the green abyss, they discover a hidden laboratory destroyed by something enormous. Data logs reveal experiments meant to create a venom-based cancer cure using serpent DNA — but the project spiraled out of control, giving birth to Specimen X, a 90-foot alpha anaconda with heightened intelligence and an insatiable hunger.

The second act becomes a tense, claustrophobic chase as the monster hunts them one by one, using its environment to strike from above and below. Twists emerge when it’s revealed that the serpent can reproduce asexually — spawning multiple smaller predators.

In the explosive finale, Elena and Jack lure the creature into a collapsing canopy fire trap, igniting the forest in a desperate final stand. As flames consume the jungle, the serpent bursts from the inferno one last time — only for Elena to impale it with a steel harpoon.
