Home Alone 3 (2026)

Home Alone 3 (2026) reimagines the classic formula with a modern twist, following 13-year-old Evan Mercer, a tech-savvy but socially awkward kid who feels overlooked in his own family. When the Mercers plan a holiday trip to Colorado, a last-minute flu outbreak causes Evan to stay home with his older sister, Lily, who barely acknowledges him. But when Lily unexpectedly leaves to visit her boyfriend, Evan finds himself completely alone—until a group of dangerous thieves targets the neighborhood.

This time, the villains aren’t random burglars. They’re a highly organized trio led by Damien Rourke, a disgraced former military contractor who believes Evan’s house contains a prototype microchip accidentally delivered to the Mercer address. The chip, capable of hijacking wireless networks, becomes Damien’s obsession—and the reason Evan must defend his home.

Once Evan discovers their plan, he unleashes a series of advanced traps using 3D printers, drones, smart home devices, and improvised engineering. The traps escalate from hilarious to brutally painful, pushing the criminals to their breaking point. In one standout sequence, a hacked drone ambushes the thieves with fireworks, while a motion-activated glue cannon becomes an audience favorite.

The emotional core hits when Lily returns mid-invasion and is captured. Evan risks everything to save her, leading to a chaotic confrontation in the snow-filled backyard. With quick thinking, Evan uses Damien’s own gear against him, delaying the criminals long enough for police to arrive.

The film ends with the Mercers reunited, finally acknowledging Evan’s brilliance—though he quietly admits he actually enjoyed the peace and quiet.
